Obituary for Carolyn Ruth Weissert
Carolyn Ruth Weissert, a longtime resident of Middletown, died on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loving family at her side.. She was 79.
The daughter of Irene A. Castell and Thomas P. Sayers, she was born on December 21, 1934 in Leicester, MA. Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother who sought excellence from her family and herself in all that she did.. She was someone who loved unconditionally and had an undying love and commitment to her children and grandchildren. A fun loving woman, she will be remembered for her sense of humor and her love of pranks and jokes. She was a creative, classy and meticulous woman and homemaker. She has left her family with many treasures, including her art of stained glass and numerous crafts.
She is survived by her Beloved husband, Bill at home , her sons .,Kenneth ( Judy ) St. Denis of Nyack, N.Y., Mark T. Van Dover( Diane) of Evergreen, Co. David Van Dover( Tamara) of Middletown, and her daughter, Tammy Lynn ( Thomas Rhein Jr). of Shohola, Pa. , Sisters, Eileen and Madeleine ( Charlie) brother-in law, Archie; 8 grandchildren: Trislene, Adam. Shawn, Chrisopher, Melissa, Mathew, Jakie and Joshie, and 4 great grandchildren., Carolyn was prececeased by her daughter Deborah Ann in 2001 and, her two sisters Lorraine and Beatrice and her husband Harry Connor and another brother in law, George Le May. While Carolyn had many close friends, we want to recognize her many years of llifetime friendships with Mary Groleau. We are especially grateful for the love, support and friendship of her longtime friend Sandy Procak who helped care for her in her final days and provided such comfort.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 8, from 5-8 pm at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Burial of cremains will be in Pine Hill Cemetery on Thursday October 9 at 2;30 pm.Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, N.Y.
