Carmen L. (Connie) Vega

Carmen L (Connie) Vega passed away on September 15, 2024 at Garnet Regional Medical Center.


Connie was born on April 26, 1930 to Maria Melendez and Catalino Narvaez in San Juan, PR.


As a child she was raised in NY, NY by her aunt Alejia Quintana. She met the love of her life in NY, Antonio (Tony) Vega. They were married on September 5, 1948. They had three daughters. Karen Gonzalez, Valerie Westford and Judy Pagan. They moved to Middletown in 1965 and lived in Scotchtown as one of the first residents of Greenway Terrace.


Connie worked at Classy Leather and LLoyds, while Tony worked at the Ford plant in Mahwah. Both Connie and Tony were very involved in their church and the prison ministries.


She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Tony and her daughter Karen and son- in- law John Gonzalez. She was also predeceased by her son- in- law Steven Westford.


She is survived by her daughters Valerie Westford, Judy Pagan and her husband John D Pagan. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.


Contributions in Carmen’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice


Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
