Carmela M. Rohe
Carmela M. Rohe, a 20 year resident of Bloomingburg and formerly of Nanuet, N.Y. died unexpectedly at Garnel Medical Center on January 26, 2022. She was 78. The daughter of James and Vera Christiana Burnett, she was one of eight children born in Brookly, N.Y. on July 15, 1943. Carmela married the love of her life, Joseph C. Rohe on March 25, 1964 in the Bronx. Together they raised five children in Rockland County and eventually moved to Bloomingburg. She was a spiritual and generous woman who had a deep love of family, (especially children.) Carmela is survived by her loving husband, Joe, at home, her sons; James (Lori), Joseph Jr. (Michele) both of Washingtonville, Dennis (Kimberly) of Tuxedo Park, her daughters; Lisa Velling of Bloomingburg and Karen (William) Conklin of Port Jervis. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren; Angela, Justine, James, Nicholas, Nicole, Megan and Christopher and two great grandchildren; Taylor and Meadow and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Hansen officiating. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Donations in Carmela's name may be made to the Tri State Family Christian Center, Rt 209, Deerpark, N.Y. or the Bloomingburg Fire Dept.
