Obituary for Carlotta "Carol" Felix
Carlotta “Carol” Felix passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024 surrounded by family at home. She was born March 30, 1942 in Manhattan, NY to the late Carmelo Turell and Ramona Laguna Turell. She was 82 years old and a lifelong resident of Orange County, NY.
Carol is survived by her sons Jose Felix Jr. and wife Lynn, Eric Felix and wife Elaine and Jon Felix, beloved grandchildren Jose 3rd, Alexander, Orion, Tomas and Logan, brother Daniel Turell Sr. of Livingston Manor, NY Gladys Turell, nephew Daniel Turell Jr. and wife Tracy and nieces Lisa Lewis and husband John and Erica Turell.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Elena M Turell and nephew Adam C Turell
She balanced being a single mom of 3 boys with her goal of obtaining a Registered Nursing Degree from Orange County Community College. She started her nursing career at St. Francis Hospital in the obstetrics department in Port Jervis, NY. She continued as a Pediatric Clinic Nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and St. Lukes-Newburgh Hospital. She enjoyed her work and often shared many interesting stories.
Ma enjoyed listening to Marc Anthony, whom she was able to meet and get a photograph with, or Andrea Bocelli. Her final days were spent listening to them and singing along.
She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and visited many locations. Atlantic City, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods were popular stops too.
Her home was always shared with one or two cats who brought smiles to her face and laughter all day long.
A memorial will be held at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home at 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY on Thursday, July 11 from 6pm to 8pm.
