Carlos Gueits, a 22 year Clerk for the USPS, died unexpectedly on August 24, 2011 in Sarasota, Fl as the result of an automobile accident. He was 45. The son of Esther and the late Jose Gueits, Sr., he was born in NYC, and was affectionatley known as "Charlie" to his family. He was graduate of Thomas High School in NYC and worked for the USPS for 22 years, first in Middletown, NY and recently in Sarasota, FL. Carlos loved working with computers and was a computer whiz. He loved reading, but most of all loved being with and around his family. His wife and boys were everything to him. He will be remembered by all for his enormous heart and for all of the wonderful things he did for others. He was a happy man with a warm smile for everyone.
In addition to his loving wife, Linda, at home; he is survived by his two sons, Carlos Anthony and Andrew Justin Gueits; his mother, Esther Gueits; two brothers, Jose Gueits, Jr and Edward Gueits; nieces, Ayana Marie and Madison Gueits.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, September 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 2, at St. Joseph's R. C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown 10940.
