Carl C. Bomgardner of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024. Carl was born November 28, 1949 in Middletown, NY to Donald and Alberta Bomgardner. He graduat ed Middletown High School in 1970, received his Associate degree in Applied Science from Orange County Community College in 1974, and his Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976. He worked as a research scientist at International Paper in Tuxedo Park, NY for 26 years before he began working from home as a senior software developer for various companies and retiring in 2020. He was married to Julie Bomgardner on August 19th, 1973, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Carl was a man of many passions and talents, enjoying and excelling at anything he put his mind to. He loved designing and building computers and keeping up to date on all things science and technology related. He was an expert cook, skilled craftsman and woodworker who dabbled in gardening and raising chickens, among many, many other hobbies and interests. He was quick-witted with a superb sense of humor, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and an all-around family man who could always be relied upon by his wife and children.
Carl is survived by his daughter Tiffany Ferris and son in law Courtney Ferris Jr, son Ryan Bomgardner and daughter in law Rachel Bomgardner, brother in law Scott Gorton and sister in law Giselle Gorton, niece Katherine Gorton and nephew Nathan Gorton. Carl also leaves behind his two grandsons, Alexander Ferris and Mason Ferris, as well as his dog and companion Scout. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Alberta Bomgardner, step-mother Irma Bomgardner, his aunt Edith Aschoff, and his beloved wife Julie Bomgardner.
