Bruce DeBerry, a member of IBEW Local 363, died at home on October 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70.
The son of Frances Covati DeBerry and the late Charles DeBerry, he was born on August 1, 1948 in Suffern, NY. Bruce married Lee Ann Kennedy on August 9, 1969 in Blauvelt, NY and they celebrated 49 years of marriage together. They lived together in Pennslyvannia until coming to the Middletown area 33 years ago. He was a man of few words, but much service. Bruce was a volunteer of Hospice, and Dispute Resolution. He was quiet and reserved with a big heart who loved his grandchildren dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann at home; his son Frank DeBerry and his wife Dina of Seattle, WA and one daughter Danielle DeBerry of Easthampton, MA. Bruce is also survived by his sister, Gayle Mann of Tompkins Cove, NY, two sister-in-law, Christine Graham and Joyce Herlihy and their families; special nephew Chuck Rafferty and his wife Bernie of New City and his beloved grandchildren, Shi Lu and Abel as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
Bruce’s family would like to thank Dr. Sethi, Good Samaritan Home Health Care, Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties and the Infusion Center at Crystal Run for the loving care they provided for his and his family during his recent illness.
