November 12, 1948 - April 24, 2012

Middletown, NY

Bruce Douglas Bertholf, a lifetime resident of Middletown died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 64 years old.

He was born on November 12, 1948 in Middletown to the late Corwin Howell and Gertrude Evelyn Rose Bertholf, Jr.

He was a 1966 graduate of MHS, where he was a star football player. During his time at MHS, he was awarded N.Y.S.’s All American Football Award. He also attended and played football for the University of Cincinnati, where he was known as "Kong". Bruce worked for the New York State Division of Youth and worked all over the state including Goshen, the Bronx and most recently Albany.

He was member of Christian Faith Fellowship and his church was foremost in his life. He was also a member of CFF’s motorcycle club. Bruce dedicated most of his time to the outreach ministry. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and target practice.He was a beloved uncle, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Bruce is survived by his brother, Gordon and his wife, Kathy of Middletown; two sisters, Christina Bertholf of the Bronx and Phyllis Davis and her husband, William of Middletown and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 27, at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 512 M&M Road, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11a.m. at CFF, Pastor Joe McKelvey will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery.
