Obituary for Bevan Raymond Nurse
Bevan Raymond Nurse, a 7 year resident of Middletown, went to be with his Lord on August 7, 2006 at Park Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Middletown. He was 51 years of age.The son of the late Preston and Hera Nurse, he was born in Port-of-Spain in Trinidad, West Indies on June 1, 1955.Bevan previously worked in services in New York City. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Howells where he had followed his Savior in water baptism and served as a member of the Senior Choir. He especially enjoyed his Sunday morning Bible class, reading the Scriptures and faithfully praying for others. Although he went through several years declining health, he always had a loving, generous and grateful spirit. He will certainly be missed by his loving family, by his church fellowship and by his many brothers from the Benjamin House in Middletown where he lived since 1999.Bevan is survived by his four sisters, Merva Reyes and her husband, Val of Trincity, Trinidad, Elizabeth Piere and her husband, Nollie of Barataria, Trinidad, Patricia Maryogo and her husband, Esrom of Tanzania, East Africa, Margaret Quevedo of Mousica, Trinidad; and one brother, Michael Nurse and his wife, Cyrilla of Florida, as well, as many nieces and nephews.He will always be lovingly remembered by Annette Belle of Queens, N.Y., a life-long friend of his family who was like another sister to him.Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2006 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Howells, 41-43 Church Street, Howells, followed by a homegoing service. Pastor Steve Offringa will officiate.Burial will be held on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery, Rt. 17M in Bloomingburg.In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to the Congregational Church of Howells, P.O.
