Obituary for Betty Drennan
Formerly of Middletown, NY

Betty Clinton Drennan, formerly of Middletown, went to be with the Lord October 31, 2010. She was 83. Betty passed at the Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminister, MD, due to complications of COPD and Alzheimer's.

Betty was born on May 4, 1927. She resided her entire life in Middletown, NY. She had two sisters, Dorothy “Dot”, Mildred “Merny” and three brothers: Abe "Jim", Stanley and Dewitt. Betty was the first Ms. Middletown in 1947. Betty married her sweetheart, Gordon H. Drennan. They spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 1987. Betty enjoyed the simple things of life: tending to her beautiful flowers and slow dancing to big band music.

Betty has joined her family in heaven: her parents, Stanley and Lena Clinton; husband, Gordon H. Drennan; sister, Dorothy Elston; and her brothers, Stanley, Abe “Jim”. Betty is survived by her sister, Mildred Kopp;  brother, Dewitt and June Clinton; daughter, Yvonne and Terry Simonds; son, Gordon and Karen Drennan; daughter, Donna and Lynn Lentino; grandchildren: Kimberly and Scott MacAdam, Lori and Mark Kleivn, Tammy Anderson, Danielle, Andrea and Michael Lentino, Jessica and Scott Hearn, Terrence and Nabile Simonds; seven great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters and her special friend, George Connor.

Visitation hours will be on Saturday, November 6, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown. The funeral will follow immediately after visitation at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery following the funeral on Saturday, Nov. 6.
