Obituary for Bernadette Maher
Bernadette Maher
5/14/50-7/24/21
Middletown NY

Bernadette Maher, a longtime resident of Middletown, NY died peacefully at Garnet Hospital July 24, 2021. She was 71.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Ann Maher Morris, she was Born in the Bronx, NY, on May 14, 1950.
Bernadette worked for Goshen Central School District as a lunch lady for over 30 years. She loved working with the children, and they loved her back. After work, Bernadette would often take the left -over meals to hand deliver them to less fortunate kids around town.
She is described as an independent, hard working woman, who would give the shirt off her back to whoever needed it. She loved her pets, she had a rabbit, a cat, a dog, and would spoil her children and grandchildren’s dog whenever she saw them; but nothing compared to the love she had for her family. Bernadette raised her sons on her own and worked hard to make sure they never went without.
She is survived by her son Roger Maher and stepson Brazley Young (Barbara Dookran), Daughter-In-Law Kiera Lyon (Ken), Grandchildren, Dominique, Ryan, Anthony, and Matthew Carr, Brianna and Brazley Young Jr., Kori Farris, and Brooke Lyon. As well as three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bernadette is predeceased by her son Thomas Farris and brother Butchy Maher.
