Barbara C. Deisseroth, a longtime Middletown area resident, died unexpectedly on November 26, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 75.
The daughter of the late Henry and Edith Paul, she was born on May 6, 1938 in Calicoon, NY. Barbara married Walter E. Deisseroth, Jr. in the Town of Wallkill in 1957, he predeceased her in 1983. Barbara worked for over 30 years as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the Middletown School District.
Barbara is survived by her children; Walter and his wife Maryann of Orlando, FL; Christopher and his wife Joan of New Braunfels, TX, Clark and his wife Rebecca of Kansas City, MO, Suzanne Rich and her husband Gary of Pine Bush and Wendy Constantine and her husband Michael of Weston, CT; one brother, Kurt Paul and his wife Bernice of MA; sister, Mary Smith and her husband Richard of AZ and eleven beloved grandchildren, Nicole, Raquel and Roxanne Deisseroth; Christopher, Rebecca and Carly Deisseroth; Wendy and Leighann Rich; Robert, Julia and Benjamin Constantine .
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the funeral home, burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Midway Road, Middletown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to Middletown City Schools c/o Barbara Deisseroth Scholarship Fund, 223 Wisner Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
