Barbara Ann Ramos
August 21, 1941 to April 24, 2022
Barbara “Barb” Ramos passed into eternal rest on April 24th at the age of 80 from Small Cell Lung Cancer.
She was born August 21st, 1941 in Tupper Lake, New York to Murial Dowd and Anthony James Rovendro.
Barbara married Arthur Ramos Sr of Staten Island, New York where they started a family, raising four children before moving to Howells, New York and retiring to Wurtsboro, New York. She was a bank teller at Orange County Trust, a Department lead at JC Penney, a field tech assessor for Wurtsboro and an Account Representative at the Times Herald Record. Barbara was also a Homemaker, Caregiver, Crafter, Bowler and Den Leader. She leaves behind numerous crocheted blankets and knitted apparel, many storage tubs of orphaned skeins of yarn, crochet hooks and needles.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Ramos Sr; her sons Arthur Ramos Jr with wife Kathleen “Katie” and Christopher Ramos with wife Erika Zamek; her daughter Sandra Maguire with husband Kenneth; her brother Anthony “Jim” Rovendro Jr with wife Diane; her grandchildren Phoenix “Jessica” Ramos with husband Jòhannes Proppé, Allison Ramos, Joseph Sireci, Jonathan Ramos with wife Mikayla Swisshelm, Catherine Ramos, Colleen Ramos, Kenneth Maguire III, Timothy Maguire and Andrew Maguire; nieces and nephews Christine Ramos, Mary-Grace Ramos, Michael Ramos, Robert Ramos Jr, Keri Roman, John Rovendro, Anthony “Tony” James Rovendro III, Christopher Rovendro, Cynthia Rovendro, and their respective spouses and families.
She is predeceased by her parents and beloved son Steven Ramos.
There will be no wake or funeral service held at this time. She will be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donating to a reputable charity of your choosing in her memory for the Early Detection, Treatment and Cure of Small Cell Lung Cancer, Diabetes and/or Crohn’s Disease.
