Babette D. Salvagin, 80, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2018, at home.
Born July 27, 1938, in England, Babette came to the U.S. in 1960. She spent the last 27 years of her life happily living alongside a creek in Susquehanna, Pa. with her beloved husband Jack and their dogs.
Babette loved watching the wildlife, especially the eagles that nested near their home. She was a voracious reader and always had a book nearby. She had a passion for knitting and made baby sweaters for numerous friends and family and found joy in making enough that she could sell countless sweaters at cost to anyone that wanted one.
She was a lady in every sense of the word- dignified, strong, resilient, humble, loving, thoughtful and kind. She had a quick smile, an infectious laugh, and an inner light that drew people to her instantly. Babette possessed a grace and elegance that enabled her to see the very best in people and as a result, she was dearly loved by the many people whose lives she touched.
Babette was predeceased by her parents, Leonard (Ted) & Edith Dodd; sister, Roberta (Bobbie) Sargent; and husband, John L. (Jack) Salvagin Jr.
Babette is survived by her son, Greg Hopkins; daughter, Amanda (Kevin) Hutchison; her stepchildren Josh (Kelly) Salvagin, Kim (Bill) Imholz and Heather Bennett; her adored grandchildren Caitlin Hutchison, Ryan Hutchison, Jenna Salvagin (Josh Milas), Ashley Salvagin, Billy Imholz (Lindsay McGuire), Bryce Imholz, Christopher Salvagin, Michael Salvagin, Adam Bennett, Zachary Bennett, Gracie Radebolt, Lacie Radebolt; and four great-grandchildren.
