ARTHUR GEORGE LIVESEY, SR.

March 13, 1920 - September 4, 2012

Middletown, NY

ArthurGeorge Livesey Sr., a Middletown resident, died on Tuesday, September 4, at Middletown Park Manor. He was 92.

The sonof the late Charles Henry and Susan Blauth Livesey, he was born on March 13,1920 in Staten Island.

Heworked as an engineer for IBM in Fishkill until his retirement. Art proudlyserved in the U.S.Marine Corps and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Art was a 69 year memberof the Monhagens in Middletown, the American Legion Post 151, and a formerCommandant and member of the Marine Corps League. He was a life member of theIBM Quarter Century Club and a former Boy Scout Leader. He married Mary J.Kniffin in 1952.

Art issurvived by his loving wife, Mary at home; his children: Arthur George Livesey,Jr. and his wife, Ellen, Suzanne Munday, and David Livesey and his wife,Carolyn, all of Middletown; one sister, Doris Schmidt and one brother, RobertE. Livesey, both of Middletown. He is also survived by his grandchildren:Arthur George Livesey, III and his wife, Gabrielle, Jennifer Brenner and herhusband, Will, Kristinn Yonelunas and her husband, Robert, Erin Livesey and herhusband, Evan Gulick, all of Middletown and David Livesey of Albany, and great-grandchildren:Carsen, Kade, Tate, Jovee, Kegan, Jonathon, Jaxon and Grace; sisters-in-law,Jane Livesey of Staten Island and Margie Kniffin of Louisville, TX, as well asmany nieces and nephews. Art was predeceased by his two brothers, Charles F.and Grover J. Livesey.

Visitationhours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 atApplebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 8 atthe funeral home. Burialwill follow in OrangeCounty Veteran’sCemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen.
