Obituary for Armando T. Colon
Armando T. Colon
March 13, 1996-May 23, 2013
Middletown, NY
Armando T. Colon, a junior at Middletown High School, died unexpectedly as a result of an auto accident in Middletown on the way to his prom. He was 17.
The son of Elicia Hendrickson and Thomas Colon, Jr., he was born on March 13, 1996 in Middletown. Armando attended Middletown schools, was a member of the ROTC and was a high honors student at Middletown High School. His plan was to graduate, go to two years of college and then attend officer candidate school to enter the U.S. Marines as an officer. He was a respectful and honorable young man who already lived up to all of the standards of a Marine. He was selfless and loving-the overly protective brother to his two younger sisters. He was a born leader who died as a hero, protecting the lives of his friends. His family couldn’t have wished for a better son, grandson and brother.
“Nando, Buela loves you more!”
Armando is survived by his loving mother, Elicia Hendrickson and her husband Patrick; his father, Thomas Colon, Jr.; his sisters, Jasmari Colon and Joselyn Rosado; his grandmother, Carmen Olmo, grandparents, Matilda and Thomas Colon; aunts, Lydia Olmo, Jennifer Olmo, and Tiffany Olmo all of Middletown; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation hours will be from 3 to 5 pm on Monday, May 27th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 28th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
