Obituary for Antonio Martinez
Antonio Martinez died peacefully at Sapphire Nursing Home in Goshen NY, on Saturday June 6, 2020. He was 90.
The son of Jose Martinez and Maria Lorenzo, he was born in Galicia, Spain on November 4, 1929.
Antonio married the love of his life, Rose, on December 15, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. Eventually they built a home in Pearl River,NY, where they raised their three children, Ann, Dina, and Joseph.
Antonio worked in the construction business for over 50 years, and loved his job. He instilled the importance of a hard work ethic in his children. Antonio had a quirky personality and was described as a generous, kind-hearted man who gave whatever he could, to whoever needed it. In his downtime, he was a die-hard METS fan, who loved making wine and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and friend, but his grandchildren were his world.
Antonio is survived by his children, Ann Alchihabi, Dina Luther and husband Keith, and son Joseph Martinez. Sister; Corona, and brothers Manolo and Arturo. Grandchildren; Alexander, Robert, and Christopher Luther, and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, and wife Rose who passed in May of 2019.
