Antonio Andrade of Middletown, died on Veterans’ Day Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Valley View Center in Goshen. He was 93.
The son of the late Frank and Marie Barotte Andrade, he was born on August 2, 1921 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Antonio proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic. He worked for VAW in Ellenville, NY until his retirement.
He was a member of the Middletown Lions and Elks Clubs for many and and was a founding member and treasurer of the Middletown BMX. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers. He always had a smile on his face.
He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn in September of this year and his sister, Hilda Andrade in 2007.
He is survived by his children; son, Steven Andrade and his wife Ann Marie of Citrus Spring, FL, daughter, Terry Auerbach and her husband Kenneth of Lake Peekskill, NY; and four grandchildren, Diane, Michael, Steven and Preston.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11 am, burial will follow with military honors in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
