Middletown, NY

Antonietta Macri, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, died at her home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 surrounded by her devoted family. She was 78.

The daughter of the late Nicola and Angelina Pistoia Corea, she was born on June 11, 1934 in Magisano, Italy. Antonietta moved to the Middletown area 42 years ago with her husband Vincenzo from Magisano, Italy. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Middletown.

Antonietta was a proud mother and grandmother who held strong values that she passed lovingly on to her family. She enjoyed cooking meals and being with her family and friends. She was a talented successful gardener who always kept a bountiful garden that she shared with everyone. She loved planting tomatoes to make her own sauce. She held on to her Italian heritage and was an inter- Milan soccer fan.

Antonietta is survived by her loving family; her sons, Nicola Macri and his wife Gina and Joseph Macri and his wife Raffaela, all of Middletown and her daughter, Cathrine Macri-Isola and her husband Anthony of Circleville; her brother, Pietro Corea and his wife Maria of Middletown and sister, Elvira Mastria and sister-in-law Concetta Corea. She is also survived by her 7 cherished grandchildren,

Annalise and Francesco Isola, Antonietta and Vincenzo Macri and Vincenzo, Antonietta and Genio Macri as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Vincenzo Macri, she was predeceased by her parents, Nicola and Angelina Corea, brother, Rosario Corea and sister Maria and her husband Armando Falcone and brother-in-law Antonio Mastria, husband of her sister, Elvira.

Visitation hours are from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
