Antoinette B. Pepe, a longtime area resident, died unexpectedly on August 13, 2017 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Luigi and Carmela Leone Salvucci, she was born on October 24, 1927 in Corona, New York. Antoinette loved fashion and worked in Macy’s Herald Square, where she met the love of her life, George Pepe. Antoinette and George married on April 10, 1948. They shared 60 years together until his death on February 1, 2010. She also worked as a mortgage servicer for Queens County Savings Bank.
She is survived by her three daughters, Georgette Timmerman, Barbara
Pepe , Lynne Cook and her husband Mike Anton; and one son, Richard and his wife Christine; grandchildren, Rich and Tara Pepe, Adam and Erich Timmerman, Clifford Cook IV and his fiancé Kristin Cummings, Kimberly Cook, Melissa, Rebecca, Angela, and Richard Pepe; and three great-grandchildren Brian, Kevin, and Alex Pepe.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillilps Funeral Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Antoinette’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
