Anthony “Tony” Palmiero, of Middletown, died unexpectedly on Friday July 31 at his home. He was 58.
The son of George Palmiero and the late Raffaela Senzamici, Anthony was born on July 2, 1951 in the Bronx. He worked diligently as the chief engineer for Lehman College in the Bronx and at any other job he put his mind to. His friends and family called him the "Bull"- he was a giver and an achiever. Anthony was a fixer of anything.
He moved to the Middletown area from the Bronx in 1992 and was a member of Elks Club # 1097. On May 12, 1993 , he married Patricia Leight in Bermuda.
In addition to his father, George, Anthony is survived by his wife Pat at home; daughter Ana Marie of Middletown; stepdaughters, Teresa Talavera and her husband Carlos and Lisa Wood; brother John Palmiero of the Bronx and three grandchildren, Amber Dunn, Savannah and Michael Talavera; his Aunt Libra and Uncle Pete and his wife Theresa, and Aunt Millie and Uncle Pat.Anthony was predeceased by his first wife Francine and his mother Raffaela.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 113 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown.
Memorial contributions in Anthony's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
