Anthony Internicola of Middletown died on Thursday November 26 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 82.
Anthony was born on July 8, 1927 in New York and grew up on the lower eastside of Manhattan. He served in the U.S Army from 1945-47 and was a true patriot. Following his years of service, Anthony worked as an X-ray technician at Downstate Medical Center, where he met his wife of 40 years, Cecilia Pistone. Anthony and Cecilia moved to the Middletown area in 1983. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his dedication to his family, his country and to music, especially jazz.
In addition to his wife, Cecilia, Anthony is survived by his son, Vito and his wife Kate of Chicago, Ill, and his daughter, Toni Hull and her husband Jason of Las Cruces, NM, one sister-in-law, Christina Internicola of New Jersey, and several nieces.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am at St. Joseph's Church 113 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY. Burial with Military honors will follow at O.C.Veterans Cemetery, 11 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.
Memorial contributions in Anthony’s name may be made to the Tucker Center for Cancer care, 60 Prospect Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
