ANTHONY JOSEPH CONSTANTINO, JR. 

December 28, 1933-June 11, 2013 

Middletown, NY 

Anthony Joseph Constantino, Jr., a retired teacher for Chester Free Union School District, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at home following a short illness in his loving wife's arms. He was 79. 

The son of the late Anthony Joseph and Lena Monteleone Constantino, he was born on December 28, 1933 in Middletown, NY. Anthony was a lifetime Middletown resident who graduated from MHS and attended University of North Carolina on a golf scholarship. After receiving his teaching degree, he returned to Middletown and taught for the Irish Christian Brothers in Monroe, NY. He later settled into his lifetime vocation as a science teacher at Chester Union Free School. He was a gentle soul who always had an affinity with children. He had the patience to help children achieve the best they could be. The parents loved him and he loved his students, even many years after having them as students, he would remember each by name. He loved the game of golf too and was always happy to teach golf to anyone. He felt that it was the most relaxing game. He married Marilynann "Micki" Coleman on May 7, 1988 in Middletown. 

In addition to his loving wife, Micki, at home he is survived his daughter, Toni Frances; his sisters-in-law, Jane Roche and Rose Coleman; many nieces and nephews including Raymond and his wife, Michelle and their children: Nicky, Anthony and Sophia Rose of Creskill, NJ; Michael and his wife, Maria Roche and their children: Gavin and Claire of MA; Brian and his wife, Christina and their children: Carly and Colleen of Nanuet; niece, Deborah Coleman-Reggiero and her husband, James and their daughter, Dana Rose of NJ. He was predeceased by brothers: Frank Constantino and Nicholas Constantino, Sr. and sister, Maria Delores Constantino. 

Visitation hours will from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14th at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY, 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anthony's name may be made to the Deborah Reggiero ALS Fund, c/o P.O. Box 4103, Middletown, NY 10941.
