Obituary for Anne "Sandy" Klimo
Anne “Sandy” Klimo, a four year resident of the area, formerly of Sea Cliff, Long Island, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Park Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Middletown. She was 87 years old. The daughter of the late John and Anne Iglehart Ingle, Jr., she was born March 1, 1919 in Glen Ridge, NJ. Sandy married her beloved husband, Jake Klimo in May of 1940 in Yonkers, New York, and they raised their family first in Iowa and then in Sea Cliff. Sandy worked for many years as a secretary for the music department of North Shore High School in Glen Head, Long Island. She loved music and she also enjoyed doing the crossword puzzles in all three of the daily New York papers. Sandy also was an omnivorous reader, who enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe. She kept extensive travel journals.Sandy is survived by her four loving children, Jon Klimo and his wife, Jane Van der Veer, of Oakland, CA, Mark Klimo and his wife, Sherie Ernst, of Philadelphia, PA, Kate Ross and her husband, Harry, of Middletown, and Charles Klimo of Wading River; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Aaron, Lukas, Emma, Paul, and Noah; one great grandchild Jesse Tiger; her sister Mary Jaworski and her husband, Charles, of Manchester, CT; and her nieces and nephews Nancy, Wanda, Anne, Frank, Julia, Martha, Vickie, and Fritz. She was predeceased by her husband in 1984, her son Peter, her brother John Ingle, and sister Lockie Nickles.
