Anna Pastormerlo, one of nine children, was born in New York City to Leonardo and Catherine Signorile. She entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2014 at the age of 98 yrs. We believe the secret to our mother’s longevity was that she always found something to enjoy, no matter how small, everyday.
She is survived by her children: Maria Whitby and her husband, Richard, John Pastormerlo and his wife, Kay and William Pastormerlo and his wife, Lori ; six grandchildren: Melissa, Lynell, John, Marie, Amy and Emily and four great grandchildren: John, Jack, Margot and Eve. She is survived by five of her siblings: brother, Pasquale; sisters: Laura, Mary, Rose and Victoria. She was predeceased in 1987 by her husband John, with whom she celebrated almost 50 years of marriage; and three siblings: Catherine, Antoinette and Vito.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24th at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St. with Pastor Dennis Nikolic officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
