Anna Catherine Midla, an area resident of the area since 2001, died unexpectedly on December 30, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 90.
Anna was born on July 26, 1928 in Yonkers, NY. Anna worked as a l nurse for Summit Park Hospital in Pomona, NY and she retired in 1995. After she moved to the Middletown area from New City, Anna became a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Church in Bullville. She was an incredibly spiritual woman. She believed in the power of prayer, and it worked for her. She loved to be around family, especially the grandchildren. Anna was always around to help around the house and to talk to. She enjoyed the classics and old movies and spending quiet times with her loved ones.
Anna is survived by her four children; John and his wife Nicole of Batavia, NY, George and his wife Vivianna of Texas, Margaret “Peg” Conklin and her husband Tim of Middletown and Ann Marie Abreu and her husband Rueben of New City. She is also survived by her sister Helen Golebeck of Texas and 18 grandchildren, Avery, Macy, Daniel, Kristal, Melissa, John, Zachary, Ashley, Adam, Gage, Deven, Robert, Erica, Kayden, April, and Madison, Robert, Julia and Jessica and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Rt. 2800 17K, Bullville, NY 10915. Entombment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
