Angelo Santana, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, died peacefully at his home on January 22, 2022. He was 60 years old.
The son of Angel Santana and Juanita Viera Santana. He was born on September 19, 1961 in Manhattan. Angelo grew up in Astoria, Queens. After graduating from high school, he attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. On May 12, 1985, Angelo married Nayda Lucy Montalvo at St. Mark's Church in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He worked for IBM and later for Pratt and Whitney in Management. In 2001, Nayda and Angelo relocated to the Middletown area, where they settled with their children.
Angelo enjoyed spending time with his family and loved fishing. He loved problem solving, technical issues or physical objects. He was Mr. Fix-it and could repair anything, which he loved to do for his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Angelo is survived by his devoted wife, Nayda Santana, his daughter Alexis Santana Cortes and her husband Alex Cortes, son Michael Santana and his partner Ryan Levine. He is also survived by his brothers, Jose Santana and his wife Susan, Yamil Bautista and his wife Samira his sister Joanne Haberman and her husband Allan Haberman; one beloved granddaughter Addison Luna Cortes and nieces, Joan Carregal, Jody Carregal, Alexandra Bautista and Luna Bautista.
Cremation was private., Cremation was private. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
