Middletown, NY

Angelo J. Bellotto, a lifetime Middletown resident, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 59.

He was the son of Daniel J. Bellotto and the late Mary Bianchi Bellotto. He was born on July 21, 1950 in New York City.

Angelo was a faithful member of the Middletown Elks Club, where he also worked as a bartender. He will also be remembered for his many years in management for Lloyd’s Supermarket in Middletown. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.

A family statement reads, "Angelo always looked out for his family, especially his father. He had a great sense of humor, and was known to many as "Rooster". He had many friends and enjoyed the Sunday softball games. He will be sorely missed by all”.

In addition to his beloved father, Daniel, at home; he is survived by his loving companion, Sharon Eronimous of Middletown; brothers, Daniel, Mark, Stephen, David, and Paul and his wife Jennifer, his sisters, Roseanne Schumaci and her husband John, Mary Weeden and her husband Dan, and Elizabeth Critelli and her husband Joe. Also, nephews and nieces, Matthew, Jason, Deanna, John, Erica, Michael, Teresa, Mark, Matthew, Stephanie, Lisa, Paul, Andrew, Joey and Nick and 5 great-nephews and nieces. He is also survived by aunts and uncles and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his brother,

Frank.

Visitation hours will be from 3 to 8 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY, 10940.

An Elks Service will be held at 6 pm at the funeral home Sunday evening.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, March 15, 2010 at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial with Military honors will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.

Memorial contributions in Angelo’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 419 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
