Obituary for Angela Manouvelos
Angela Manouvelos a longtime area resident died tragically as a result of being struck by a car, on Thursday May 18, 2006 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. She was 67 years old. The daughter of the late Spyros and Anastasia Stathatos she was born July 7, 1938 in Kefalonia, Greece. A family statement reads, “Angela was a spiritual woman who cherished her role as wife and mother and delighted in the miracle of a granddaughter, Anastasia. Her philosophy was to ‘become whatever makes you happy, never succumb to peer pressure, just follow your heart.’ She loved to cook and feed everyone, and will always be remembered as a devout woman who lived everyday of her life with love.” Angela is survived by her loving husband, Gerasimos Manouvelos at home; three beloved sons Peter and his wife, Rose, of Goshen, Fotis of Middletown, Spyros of Middletown; cherished granddaughter Anastasia of Goshen; three brothers Paul, Thomas, and Haralombos; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 22, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 10am at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Goshen Turnpike in Middletown. Fr. Christopher Talleos will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
