Obituary for Andrew William Hughes
Andrew William Hughes, a longtime area resident, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus. He was 52 years old.
The son of the late Louis R. and Anna E. Holland Hughes, Andrew was born December 23, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio.
A machinist by training, he worked on the assembly line for General Motors in Linden, New Jersey and Tarrytown, NY until his retirement.
A family statement reads, “Andy’s greatest loves were his dogs, Jesus and Natacha. His other passions were riding his motorcycle through the countryside, hunting, fishing, and music. Andy had many talents. He played guitar, composed music, and wrote poetry. Firecly independent, he was truly one of a kind. Andy’s heart was as big as the great outdoors – he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.”
In addition to his dogs Jesus and Natacha, he is survived by his brother, Louis Hughes and his wife, Candice; his sister Jeri Hughes; his two nieces Brittany Hughes and Casey Martin; and his nephew Brian Hughes.
Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 3 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.
