Obituary for Andrew Plevretes
Andy Plevretes, co-owner of the original "Gallery Inn" in New Hampton, died on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 96.

The son of the late George and Kanella Katchites Plevretes, he was born on October 7, 1919 in the Bronx. He was a World War II veteran who served in both the U.S.A. and in Europe. He was also a member of the Lions Club, the Elks and V.F.W. in Middletown.

In his own words Andy wanted all his friends, "That I died, but I SURE lived." He loved his two nieces, Betty and Connie, more than he could even put into words. He is survived by his nieces Connie and Betty; his ex-wife, helen, three children, George, Helen and Betty; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; Helen's son Stephen and his wife Virginia and daughter; his three best friends in this world, Sue, Tom and Ed Maly; his dear friends in Florida, Maria Elena; his dearest cousin who did many favors for for him, James P. Maniatis.

Visitation hours are from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 2250 Goshen Turnpike, Middletown, NY 10941. Fr. Chris Talleos will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery.
