Obituary for Andrew Antona

Andrew Antona, of Middletown, NY passed away on Sunday July 14, 2024 at Garnet Health Medical Center after a short illness. He was 55. He was born on October 24, 1968 to Piero and Mary Irene (DeGarmo) Antona in Goshen, NY, the youngest of five children.

Drew grew up on Lark Street in Washingtonville NY where many lifelong friendships were made. He attended Washingtonville High School.

Recently retired, Drew was a member of the NYC Carpenters Union Local 157 for 35 years, working as a foreman on New York City’s buildings and high-rises. He worked hard and was proud of his accomplishments.

Drew overcame many obstacles in his life, always striving to do better for himself and his family. He put his family above all. Drew loved nature, fishing and crabbing and spending time with family at the beach. He was fun-loving, spontaneous, adventurous and had a free-spirited crazy side –he had a great love of life. Drew had a big heart, always willing to help,

even at a moment’s notice. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle, caring friend and good neighbor. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all.

Predeceased by his parents, Drew is survived by his daughters Abigail and Juliann of Middletown, his sister Kathryn McAfee of Centerville, OH, his brothers Peter (Connie) of Goshen NY, Mark of Highland NY, Thomas (Janet) of Slate Hill NY, Aunt Marguerite of Washingtonville, NY and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Garnet Health Medical Center for their kind and compassionate care of Andrew.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
