Amy Lynn Kahaly,an eight year resident of Slate Hill and formerly of Hoptacong, N.J. died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was 33 years old.
The daughter of Thomas and Michele Blois Kahaly, she was born in Dover, N.J. on January 13. 1986. As a child, Amy was always outgoing. She loved being around people, especially her family. She was friendly and easily made good friends, which ingratiated her to her clients as she practiced cosmetology and hairdressing. A people person who could “talk a blue streak”, Amy was seldom at a loss for words. She loved her trade and took great delight in making others look and feel good about themselves. Her very best and favorite model was her precious daughter Madalyn who often sported the latest styles and trends. Maddy was her mom’s pride and joy. Amy found much pleasure in helping others…she could always be counted on to be a supportive friend, even after illness caused her to curtail many of her professional tasks. It was a quality we all recognized in her and will always be remembered.
Amy is survived by her cherished daughter, Madalyn Krissy Rose at home, her devoted life partner, Gene Mabee of Slate Hill, her loving parents, Thomas and Michele Kahaly of Palm Coast Fl., her sister and best friend, Stephanie Kahaly Kerr of Ormond Beach, Fl. and many close friends.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 12 from 2-4 p.m. at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, N.Y. A prayer service and Blessing will take place at 3:30p.m.
