Obituary for Alice M Owney
Alice M. Owney, a beloved Mom, Grandma and Sister died peacefully on May 16, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She was born in Manhattan on June 11, 1934, the daughter of Owen A. and Mary B. Mongan McLaughlin, one of eleven children.
Alice married her soulmate, Arthur (Art) Owney on August 20, 1955, in the Bronx. They were blessed with a daughter, four sons, sixteen beautiful grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Alice was a woman of deep faith, gifted to her by her parents.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Middletown, N.Y. and a member of Court Rosemary Catholic Daughters of America.
Alice was predeceased by her beloved, parents, husband Art (in 2005) and siblings; brother Patrick (Pat) sisters Bernadette and Sarah. Sister-in-law Barbara Jean Bray, Barbara McLaughlin, Brother-in-law Antulio Arroyo, Joe McCormick, Joe McShea and Glen Owney.
Alice is survived by her children, daughter Donna and her husband Ken Levinson, her sons Michael and his wife Maria, Tim and his wife Beth, Tom and his wife Erin, Chris and his wife Evie.
Her sisters Patsy, Cathleen, Peggy and Janey and sisters-in-law Marion McLaughlin and Marie Brickhouse.
Her brothers Mike and his wife Lottie, Owen and his wife Bonnie, Bill and his partner Lori. Brother-in-laws Bill Alston and John (Woody) Loverich.
Her many nieces and nephews.
Alice was a kind, gentle beautiful soul who is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held on-Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00am.
Burial will be on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY or
St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and a member of Court Rosemary
