Obituary for Alice M. Frolio

Alice Frolio, a beacon of resilience, love, and music, was born on October 2, 1958, in Callicoon, NY, and passed away on November 18, 2023, while residing in Middletown, NY. Her life was a symphony of courage, strength, and unwavering determination, a melody that will continue to echo in our hearts and minds.


Alice was preceded in death by beloved parents Harvey and Gladys Engvaladsen, paternal grandparents Charles and Gunhild Engvaldsen and maternal grandparents John and Maude Phillip. Aunt Adeline Akins, her sister Karen and Eddie Day, brother in law Joe Patroni, brother in law David Biccum. Alice's love and laughter will be deeply missed by all, especially by her sisters Carol Patroni & Trudy Biccum, neice Emily Biccum, niece Michelle and Gary Polanis, Phil Polonis, Dean Polonis, Devin Polonis, Lexi Polonis, niece Tracy and Armando, grandnephew Steven, nephew Stephan Day, nephew Walter and Valerie Klienhans, Kate Kleinhans, niece Becky and Joe Donaldson, Evie Donaldson, and grandniece Victoria Dahl and grandnephew Sean Dahl and cousin Edwin Akins. Her extended chosen family will also feel the loss of her vibrant spirit.


Alice's passion for music was a cornerstone of her life. Her voice, as vibrant and uplifting as her spirit, led her to the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall not once, but twice. These moments were among her proudest, a testament to her dedication to her craft.


A proud member of the Goodwill Church in Montgomery, NY for over 20 years, Alice's faith was a guiding light in her life. She served as a cherished member of the Goodwill Church Choir, her voice a harmonious testament to her faith and love for her community.


Alice's journey was also marked by her remarkable 31 years of sobriety. As a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, she stood as a pillar of strength and resilience, her story inspiring countless others on their own paths to recovery.


Alice's profound love for others, coupled with her unwavering commitment to personal development, touched lives across our country. Her dedication to nurturing her mind, body, and spirit was a testament to her desire to live a healthy lifestyle. This commitment was not just for her own benefit, but also served as an inspiration for those around her. Alice's legacy of love, resilience, and personal growth will continue to inspire and guide us all.


Alice's legacy was a life with a song of courage and determination, a melody that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led, the lives she touched, and the love she shared.


Rest in peace, Alice. Your song may have ended, but your melody lingers on.


Visitation, Services, and Repass will be held at Goodwill Church, 2135 New York Route 208, Montgomery, NY 12549, on December 30, 2023. Visitation will be at 10:00am with the Service at 11:00am, the Repast directly after the service.
