Alice Hansen of Unionville, died on Tuesday November 2 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. She was 85.
The daughter of the late Paul and Magdalena Heinrichs Engelmann she was born on May 22, 1925 in Middletown, NY. Mrs. Hansen married Richard L. Hansen, July 13, 1947 at Webb Horton Church, Middletown, NY.
She graduated from the Nursing program at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and worked first for Horton Hospital for 10 years then for over 27 years at Middletown OB/GYN.
A family statement reads: “Beloved wife, mother and grandmother whose passion for books, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune was surpassed only by her love of her family and compassion for the many patients who came through the doors of Benton Avenue OB/GYN”.
In addition to her loving husband Richard at home, Alice is survived by her children, Robert R. and his wife Barbara and Richard and his wife Terry all of Westtown, Bree Hansen and her companion Roger Stone of Dunedine, FL, Sandra Hadden of Milford, PA, and Lisa Higgins and her husband Joseph of Cortland, NY; thirteen grandchildren, Scott and his wife Hillary, Brett and his wife Amanda, Dana and her husband George, Thomas and his wife Sandra, Adam, Paige and her husband Joseph, Angela, Ali, Justin, Anna and Sean and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Saturday, November 6,
2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Funeral Service in Remembrance will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 7th at 10 am. Burial will follow in O.C. Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
