Alexander K. Claudio, a lifetime Middletown resident, died unexpectedly on Saturday July 23 in the town of Wallkill. He was 18.
The son of Angela Raymond Craig and John “Pete” Claudio, Alex was born on August 10, 1992 in Middletown. He grew up in Middletown and was a graduate of MHS Class of 2010.He had just completed his freshman year at SUNY Institute of Technology, Utica.
Everything was special about Alex. He was great with children and was a dedicated friend to everyone he knew. He was a musician and enjoyed music. He was adventurous and athletic and liked dirt biking, hiking, skydiving, scuba diving and swimming. He was also a big movie buff and loved to travel. He was a wonderful son to both his parents.
He is survived by his loving parents; his mother, Angela and her husband Calvin Craig, Jr.; his father Pete Claudio; grandparents, Alan and Theresa Joseph of Slate Hill, Joan and Joe Claudio of Bloomingburg; half brothers, Jonathan and Nicholas and half sister, Sierra; Aunt Toniann and Vernon Vance, Uncle Robert and Leah Hindley, Aunt Jessica Joseph, Uncle Joe and Bernadette Claudio; great grandparents, Max and Myra Joseph and five cousins, Brian, Rachel, Charlie Marie, Saylor and Merlot; as well as numerous friends.
Visitation will held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
