Alan Poe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and successful businessman, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2024 at the age of 83.
Born in Lehighton, Pennsylvania March 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Edgar and Leona (Shankweiler) Poe.
Alan is survived by his devoted wife, Frances, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 61 years. He is survived by Son Chris Poe and partner David Zyla, his daughter, Jen Poe, his grandsons, Joshua Blampied and wife Melanie, Allister Blampied and wife Vivian, and great-granddaughter Genevieve.
He was predeceased by his two brothers and two sisters Edgar, Dale, Jean, and Margalo, as well as his grandson Benjamin Blampied. Alan's family takes solace in knowing they are reunited once more.
Alan’s passion for music and creative spirit was a constant throughout his life, influencing his professional journey and personal endeavors.
Alan's career was marked by his transformative impact on the shoe industry, where he served as a visionary executive.
His innovative approach and leadership helped shape the industry, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and peers. Alan later transitioned to local entrepreneurship, becoming the successful owner of B&F Hardware in Port Jervis, NY. His dedication to providing quality service and fostering community relationships made B&F Hardware a beloved local institution for many years.
Alan's warmth, wisdom, and generosity touched many lives. His greatest achievement was the legacy left behind in his family. Alan was an incredible role model, generous with his wisdom, and also quite the jokester, as he knew how to make people laugh and have a good time. His legacy is one of kindness, dedication and commitment to family and friends.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life at a later date. Feel free to offer condolences to the family.

They were a Godsend that helped him and the family in his last days of life.
