ADELINA PAGAN VILLAFANE
“Mama Ade"
February 26, 1915 - June 24, 2011
Middletown, NY
Adelina Pagan Villafane, 96, of Middletown, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011. She was born February 26, 1915 to Antonio Pagan and Rosa Ortiz in Jayuya, P.R.
Our beloved Mama Ade, having fought the good fight and run the race to the finish line, has surely heard the beautiful words: “Well done my good and faithful servant! Now at last enter into the joy of your master’s house!”
She carried her many crosses courageously, and always offered her sufferings by praising God forever saying, “Que sea lo que Dios quiera!” From her mother, she was handed down the treasure of the Catholic Faith, and she passed down to her entire family the same precious gift of faith. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and wife, Mama Ade was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown. Predeceased by her husband, Jaime, Adelina is survived by five of her nine loving children, including her sons, Wilfredo and Ismael Villafane; her daughters, Iris Vargas, Sonia Collazo, and Carmen Martinez; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and countless friends. In addition to her husband, Adelina was predeceased by her sons, Carlos, Jaime Luis, Orlando and her daughter, Rosita.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Tuesday, June 28, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown. Burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
The family requests Catholic Mass offerings be made for her eternal rest.
