Mrs. Adelaide M. Walker, of Middletown, NY passed away at her home on April 24, 2014 at the age of 76. She was daughter of the late Mr. Marvin W. and Nellie Ellis Sr. and born in Campbell Hall, NY.
She was married to her husband James A. Walker, Sr. for 51 years who resides in their Middletown home. She leaves behind her beloved son James A. Walker Jr. of Goshen, NY; her grandson, Andrew J. Walker, granddaughter Rachel L. Walker, and great grandson Landon M. Walker, all living in Rocky Mount, NC.
She is survived by her sisters , Barbara A. Davis and Deborah A. Ellis; brothers Marvin “Sonny” W. Ellis, Jr and his wife Gail, Kenneth W. Ellis his wife Hilda and Roy E. Ellis. She is also survived by her nieces, Sandra L. House and Shari Davis who thought of her as their second mom; nieces Amy, Susan, and Shannon and nephews Shawn and Edward D. House(who considered her his special “Annie”).
Adelaide was an avid music lover, adored all children and shopping. She always put her child, grandchildren, and her dog, Zoe, before herself.
Cremation was private. Graveside services will take place next to her parents plot in Hamptonburgh Cemetery at 2 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. Adelaide’s family requests donations in Adelaide’s name to be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
Cremation was private. Graveside services will take place next to her parents plot in Hamptonburgh Cemetery at 2 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
