Ada Robinson, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, died following a long illness on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Sentara Nursing Center in Barco, NC. She was 92.

The daughter of the late Clemente and Luisa Valle Gerola, she was born on Serrada di Folgaria Italy. Ada married Ernest F. Robinson on April 28, 1946 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown, he predeceased her in 1982. Ada spent her lifetime in the Bloomingburg area until she recently moved to North Carolina. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg where she was also a part of the Craft Circle. Ada loved the ocean and to sing. She was a kind, loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader and master crossword puzzle solver. Ada will also be remembered by all who knew her as the World’s Greatest Yankee fan.

She is survived by her daughters, Bette Bonitz and her husband Carl of Bloomingburg and Sherry Sharpe and her husband Kevin of Southern Shores, NC; one sister, Gloria Fasciano and her husband George of Frisco, TX. Ada is also survived by her grandchildren, Carl Bonitz Jr and his wife Lauren, Bryan Bonitz and his wife Jennifer, Rose Sharpe and Daisy Sharpe Lugo and her husband Adam; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband Ernest, Ada was predeceased by her sister, Olga Campo and a brother, Dario Gerola.

Visitation hours are from 3 to 7 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Our Lady of the Assumption in Bloomingburg, NY. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Middletown.

Memorial contributions in Ada's name may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Our Lady of the Assumption Food Pantry.

Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
