ARTHUR V. BOND
November 16th, 1918 - December 3rd, 2016
ARTHUR BOND died peacefully on December 3rd, 2016 at his home in Elant, Goshen, New York. Arthur was 98.
The son of the late Charles and Ellen Bond, he is survived by his niece, Yvonne Bond Kennedy, and great-nephew, David Kennedy, of Antelope, Calfornia.
Retired from the New York City School System, Arthur was a past Fire Chief of the Fire Island Pines Fire Department in Fire Island where he would patrol the island on a bicycle. For many years Arthur was a patron of The Metropolitan Opera. Arthur was a fun-loving, kind and generous person.
He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond, and his sisters, Lorraine and Marion, as well as his life partner of 47 years, William G. Hyde, Jr.
The family would like to express their sincere and deepest gratitude to the staff at Elant for the excellent care they gave to Arthur over the last 8 years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with services at 6:45 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Highland Avenue, Middletown, New York.
