Jeannette Elsholz of New Hampton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus in Middletown.

She was 77 years young, born on July 15, 1932 in Lincoln Park, NJ to the late Herbert and Jennie Van Duyne.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher who took great joy in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Jeannette was extremely thankful to all those who showed their endless love and support through cards, visits, and phone calls during her illness. She was predeceased by her three older sisters; Doreen, Dorothy and Helen.

Jeannette leaves behind her beloved family including her husband Carl of 56 years; Jeannette's daughter, Linda Higby, her husband Gary and their two children Kimberly and Carl of Pine Bush; Jeannette's son, Kurt Elsholz and his wife Teresa Bals-Elsholz of Hanna, Indiana and Jeannette's youngest son, Paul Elsholz, his wife Molly Beverage and their son Ry of Granville, NY. Other close family ties include her nieces Doreen Skoneki and Barbara Gettings who were "more like sisters", and her sisters-in-law, Margaret "Sis" Weymer and Trudy Dann and their families.

Jeannette enjoyed visiting her and Carl's 22 nieces and nephews and spent much of her retirement traveling to see her large extended family throughout the United States.

Jeannette was a long-time resident of the Middletown area who taught elementary school for twenty-five years, largely in the Middletown School District. After her retirement in 1989, Jeannette and Carl enjoyed spending the winter months in Arcadia, Florida, where they have many goods friends.

A memorial celebration service honoring Jeannette's loving life will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 11 am at the First Presbyterian of Denton in New Hampton, where Jeannette was an active member.
