Westtown, NY
Lucy Parrella of Westtown, NY entered rest on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Elant Nursing Home in Goshen, NY. She was 89 years old.
Lucy was born in Montgomery, NY on April 15, 1928 to the late Fred and Clara Tester. A family statement reads: “Mom” was, and always will be, a very special soul who has touched the hearts of everyone she met. Everyone has been blessed to have had the opportunity to know her. She will be missed dearly. As a daughter, I have been truly blessed to have her in my life, and have her as “my Mom”.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorraine Diana and her husband, William of Westtown, NY; brother and sister-in law, Frank (Bill) and Marlene Parrella of Scottsdale, AZ, sister-in-law, Mildred Parrella of the state of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Vince; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Tester; her brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Dominick and Caroline Parrella, John and Connie Parrella, Tony Parrella, Jim and Lucy LaPenna, Frank and Connie LaPenna and nephews, Guy Parella and Anthony ("Tippy") LaPenna.
Lucy’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Elant of Goshen Nursing Home, who had contact with her each day, with kind words, warm smiles and enthusiastic sense of humor. Our family also extends special thanks to Dr. Kaur and the nurses who gave exceptional care and comfort to mom always. You are very special to us and we will always have a special place in our hearts. Special Nurses include: Keri, Eileen, Christine, Arlene and Jackie - as well as the CNA’s - we will never forget how caring and loving you were to mom. You have become part of our family, as well as close friends Mom had in Paff 1-Louie, Jules, Christine and Bill.
