Obituary for Juanita M. Sanchez
JUANITA M. SANCHEZ
“MAMA”
June 22, 1943 - May 18, 2017
Middletown, NY
Juanita M. Sanchez, “Mama”, a lifetime resident of Middletown, died peacefully on May 18, 2017 at Middletown Park Manor.
The daughter of Raymond Figueroa and Josephine Scarpinati, Juanita was born on June 22, 1943 in Bronx, New York. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband Juan, who died in 2010.
Her first granddaughter called her “Mama”, and from then on, it followed to all grandchildren and friends. She was a “Queen Mom” on earth, and her words will live inside every heart she touched. She was spunky, humorous, sincere, non-judging, compassionate and welcomed and loved by everyone who she touched in her life. Words cannot explain the loss we feel, but we will never forget her humor and kind words. We love you “Mama”, always.
Papa came and took her hand and they are happy at home together.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Linda Jimenez (Miguel) of Middletown, NY, Laura Sanchez of Denver, CO, and Debbie Camacho (Hector) of Middletown. She is also survived by her brother, Rudolph Figueroa, also of Middletown; sisters, Dalores Vitani and Jeanette Tiess, both of Middletown; grandchildren #1. Jennifer, #2. Christina, #3. Jonathan, #4. Sarah, #5. Brittany, #6. DeAnna, and #7. Abel, and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, she is also pre-deceased by her parents.
We would like to express our thanks to the staff of Middletown Park for their excellent and loving care of our “Mama”.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at St. Joseph’s Church, Cottage Street, Middletown. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
