Jerald “Jerry” Barmann, a lifetime Middletown resident, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, July 28, 2018. He had just celebrated his 50th birthday.
The son of Linda Pinkham and the late David Barmann, Jerry was born on June 23, 1968 in Middletown. He attended Middletown Schools and was a gradute of MHS Class of ’86. Jerry had an affinity for mechanics that he discoved early in his life and he spent his life working as an auto body tech. His passion for fast cars and faster motorcycles made him one of the best around. He was interested in everything that involved cars and the races at Orange County Speedway were one of his favorite places to be. Jerry was a loving father, son, brother and proud uncle who will be missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Linda at home, he is survived by his sons, Gavin and Dresden Barmann and one sister Amanda Castelonia of Walden; two nephews James and Justin Castelonia and several aunts uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home, Rev. Ken Fanning of Goodwill Church will officiate. . Cremation will be private.
Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be made to a fund for his sons, Gavin and Dresden Barmann, P. O. Box 123, New Hampton, NY 10958.
