Obituary for Dolores V. Wynn
Dolores V. Wynn, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Kaplan Family Residence in Newburgh. She was 73 year old retired sales associate for J.C. Penney.
The daughter of the late Albert and Violet Borsellino Genovese, she was born in The Bronx on September 15, 1944.
She married John Wynn on September 21, 1968 in Yonkers, New York, and together they raised their two children in Rockland County, and in 1980 moved to Middletown.
Throughout their marriage, she and John were able to travel when they weren’t spending time with family. Her family and, especially, her three grandchildren were a delight for her to be around.
She was a kind-hearted and gentle woman who always put family first.
Dolores is survived by her husband of fifty years; John and their two children; daughter Valerie and her husband Joe Stankavage of Highland, and son, John and his wife Christina of Newburgh, two sisters, Jo-Ann Giardina and her husband Joe of East Islip, Janet Genovese of West Babylon, and three grandchildren; Brandon, Makayla and Peter as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents and one brother, Felix Genovese.
Visitation for Dolores will be held on Wednesday, March 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, New York on Thursday, March 15 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
