Obituary for Diana Wikel
Diana C. Wikel, 59, passed away peacefully at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center on Sunday September 10, 2017 at 1:23 AM. She was born in Middletown, New York on May 30, 1958 to the late George David and Elizabeth Bernadette Dunnigan Stewart.
Beauty followed Diana everywhere she went. She took pride in doing her friends hair at the salon were she developed a phenomenal rapport with her extensive clientele. In her free time, Diana relished being outside. She is described as having a green thumb, which is evident in her gorgeous flower beds. Diana loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. Diana and Leo also could be found at parades and community events with their prized antique firetruck collection. Above all else, family and friends were Diana’s true passion.
Left to cherish Diana’s memory is her devoted husband of 19 years, Leo Grabowski of Myrtle Beach; together, she helped raise his children, Jason Grabowski and his wife Lisa of New York, Heather Grabowski of Virginia, Tiffany Krawcyk and her husband Jeff of Myrtle Beach, and Tara Mullin and her husband Ryan also of Myrtle Beach; and ten beautiful grandchildren, Tyler, Griffin, Jack, Kaitlin, Siariah, Henry, Jeffery Jr., Connor, Max and Jayden also Her brother David and his wife Margaret of Pine Bush NY and niece Elizabeth of Alaska.
A Memorial visitation and celebration of Diana's life will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. www.applebee-mcphillps.com
