Dennis R. Merone, a retired manager for Merco Sales in Chester, died following a long illness on May 21, 2017 at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen, NY. He was 74.
The son of the late Anthony and Anne Merone, he was born on December 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 and was stationed In Germany. He will be remembered as a stern Dad and a quiet man. He never had a bad word to say about anyone.
He is survived by his son Eric and his wife Michele of Lake Ariel, PA; two brothers, Anthony and Jesse, both of Middletown; and a sister Mary Ellen Merone of Wurtsboro. He is survived by his grandchildren Anthony and Daniel Merone.
Cremation was private. Burial of ashes will take place at Orange County Veterans Cemetery.
Dennis’ family would like to thank the staff at Valley View Nursing Home for their patience and excellent care they gave to him during the last few years.
