Dawn “Hello Family” Fahey passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 12, 2017 in Smithtown, NY. She was 52.
Dawn was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 30, 1964 and grew up in Ridgewood, Queens. Dawn’s kind and loving nature made her an excellent caregiver to many. She always could be counted on by her family and countless friends when anyone needed her. Her energy seemed endless. Dawn faced many challenges with her cheerful disposition and supported others through theirs. Her smiling face and heart "as big as Texas" will be dearly missed by everyone. Her beautiful light may have left the earth, but her joyful spirit will live forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
Dawn is survived by her two daughters, Dana Fahey and Erin Vacarr and her husband, Mike; her one grandson, Ryan and another grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her loving companion, Don Nixon; her mother, Dorothy Lewis; her sisters, Mary Clabough and her husband, John, Susan Cosenza and her husband, George, and Terri DeMaio and her husband, Eddie; and brothers, Joe and his wife, Julie and Mark; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Burial took place on Thursday, June 15, 2017 in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
A Celebration of Dawn's Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 58 West Main St., Middletown, NY 10940. Food and fellowship will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. An AA meeting will conclude the services at 8 p.m. at the church.
